The Ranch Winery is hiring for a quality Team Leader who will lead a team of North Coast employees engaged in the inspection, testing and control of equipment, materials and wine, through all stages of production to verify conformance to established standards of quality. Works cross functionally to drive quality systems and department initiatives surrounding continuous process improvement, adherence to regulatory standards and the implementation of the company's food safety program.

What You Will Do:

  • Directly supervises personnel that are engaged in chemical analysis, microbiological testing, sanitation monitoring, process controls monitoring, and response plans for non-conforming products

  • Oversees the evaluation and auditing of quality programs across multiple facilities, such as GMP, pest control, sanitation, food defense, and quality metrics

  • Acts as the HACCP Coordinator and site Food Safety Team Lead and ensures that all production activities are in compliance with Corporate and Coastal Quality objectives.

  • Monitors product safety, packaging controls, and response plans for non-conforming products.

  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data; reports findings and recommends next steps

  • Participates in internal and external audits across Gallo sites and leads audits as the QMR at North Coast wineries in their responsibility.

  • Responsible for leading root cause analyses for food safety and quality issues to determine necessary corrective actions

  • Conducts troubleshooting activities to identify current or potential quality-related process issues; makes recommendations to management on how to better improve processes

  • Supports improvement and management of the document control and record management systems

  • Creates and executes training programs to educate winery employees on quality and food safety topics

  •  Investigates complaints on existing products

  • Assigns, monitors and reviews the progress and accuracy of team's work

  • Works with suppliers and Corporate Supplier Quality to ensure that quality requirements are met

  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations and is responsible for ensuring the understanding and compliance of their team

Leadership Requirements:

  • Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.

  • Conducts performance evaluations, scheduling and approving overtime, takes disciplinary action as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of quality assurance, production, operations, laboratory operations, or winemaking experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR 8 years of quality assurance, production operations, laboratory operations, or winemaking experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility

  • Knowledge of quality systems including FSSC 22000, Current Good Manufacturing Practice, HACCP, or ISO 17025

  • Supervisory/management experience

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate
