HIM Technician - FT variable shifts

Job Description
As a Health Information Management (HIM) Technician, you will evaluate patient records ensuring all proper documentation is captured. You will prepare medical records for scanning efficiency according to established procedures, guidelines, and productivity standards; retrieve and file old paper records required for patient care; and assist with release of information services adhering to regulations. You will also document activities and results in designated systems; analyze and identify record deficiencies and merge duplicate medical record numbers. You will frequently communicate with both internal and external clients so your communication skills need to be above average, and you will need to be able to be calm in emotional situations.
Adventist Health has transitioned responsibility for its revenue management services to Cerner. This strategic alignment between Cerner and Adventist Health, provides an integrated revenue cycle platform across Adventist Health's acute, ambulatory and post-acute venues. Covering all Adventist Health's revenue management services to improve end-to-end revenue management across the entire Adventist Health organization.

Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of customer service, retail, call center or hospitality work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's/Technical degree or equivalent experience
Certified Coding Specialist and/or Certified Professional Coder
At least one year of in-patient HIM experience
Must be able to work full-time variable shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed per local regulations
Must currently reside in or around the St. Helena, California area

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
